Make Your Business Memorable at Conferences or Market Events
Are you attending an industry conference or vendor event soon? Maybe you’re speaking at a major school safety conference or you’re selling your handmade jewelry at a flea market. Regardless, attendees at these events are bombarded with business cards and other handouts from hundreds of companies. So how do you make yourself stand out and prevent your business card from getting lost in a towering stack of other cards?
Hopefully you have a website and social media pages so people can find you easily online. Because today we don’t go delving in the phone book looking for your company information, instead people will search for you in Google. Or look for your on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest–wherever they can!
So instead of giving out business cards you paid to print (have some on hand just in case though), save those for networking events and for everyday life when you run into people who need your solutions!
Stand out in a crowded world!
Instead have a big sign professionally printed with all of your information (website, social media handles, phone number) with the instructions for attendees to take a picture of the sign with their cell phone and they have all your information at their fingertips for when they need it!
Including your contact information and allowing them to just snap a picture also makes it easier for them to share your company with their friends and fellow attendees. Anything you can do to make finding your business easier for people will benefit you.
And getting your information onto people’s phones is the best way to gain their business.
Here is an example of the kind of sign we are talking about!
Business cards are still a great way for people to reference your company, especially for B2B businesses who typically get more business cards and have a method for storing them. But for consumers, most of them don’t receive business cards too often and don’t know what to do with them.
Prevent your card from being lost by potential customers by getting your information in their cell phone. Then when they think to look you up, they don’t have to worry about whether your business card is at home or in their other bag–it’s on their phone! And chances are, they would be looking up your company information on their cell phone anyway!
How will you make your business stand out at your next conference or big industry event?
