Things you should keep in mind when sending Christmas Cards
Are you ready for some history? The Christmas Card dates back to 1843 when Sir Henry Cole, a government worker who helped start the Post Office, wondered how the Post Office could be used more by ordinary people. Sir Cole worked with his artist friend, John Horsley, to create the first 3 panel Christmas card.
Christmas Cards have greatly changed over the course of the years and there are some things you should always keep in mind when sending your Greeting Cards.
Don’t Send Digital Cards
Digital Christmas cards take very little effort on your part and the receiver will gather that. Most households use Christmas cards to decorate their house during the holidays. Take the time to mail them a tangible card that they can hang on their fireplace or decorate their door frames with.
Nu expression understands that the holiday season is definitely the busiest of all and digital cards are convenient but let us take some of that stress off of you! We can custom design and print your cards in time to send them out this Christmas season!
Early is Always Better
The Christmas season is always the busiest. With that in mind, think about the mail carrier, post offices and the bad weather. Wouldn’t you hate if you put effort into sending the perfect Christmas card and it didn’t get to your recipient until after Christmas?
You ideally want your Christmas Cards to get to their permanent homes by the middle of December. Keep in mind: a lot of people travel for the holidays and won’t be home to receive your card until after Christmas is over.
If you are including a family picture on the card and are having the pictures made, make sure this is done and the photographer can get your pictures to you by mid-November. This will give you time to have them designed, printed, addressed and stamped before you need to send them out. Ideally you need to get them in the mail before the second week of December.
A Return Address is a Must!
When receiving a card in the mail the first thing most people do is look to see who it is from. Having a return address on your envelopes will automatically let the receive know who it is from and it will also give them a chance to send you a Christmas card next year or send you a thank you note.
Hand addressing each envelope and putting return addresses can be very tiring and something you don’t look forward to. Let Nu expression create custom return address labels for you! We are capable of doing black and white labels or full color. With these all you will have to do is place your return address sticker and tada – you’re done!
Hand-Write a Small Note.
You never want to send a Christmas Card without giving the card your own touch. Even if it’s just signing your name or writing an extra little greeting, you want to make sure you do this. By doing so, your recipient will know that you truly care about wishing them a Merry Christmas.
Custom Design your Cards
What could be worse than sending out a generic card you bought at the local store and it be the same card someone else sent your recipient? Custom cards really show that you care. Here are some examples that Nu has custom designed and printed for our customers.
