Disney Posters Proving the Power of Color Palettes
When you’re designing anything, an invitation, your wedding, or a website, you have to choose the perfect color palette. It’s likely you’ve heard something about the psychology of colors. The McDonald’s arch is yellow because it is psychologically the happiest color, but they pair it with red because red incites hunger in people. The color palette of McDonald’s branding and marketing tools were chosen specifically to attract their target audience, hungry people (and potentially HANGRY people!).
The right color palette will match with your company’s atmosphere, your party’s theme, or you and your fiance’s personality. Regardless what you’re creating a color palette for, it should affect people and set the mood you desire for them.
You can see the power of the perfect color palette by looking through these minimalist posters created by designer and illustrator Hyo Taek Kim. He captured various Disney movies in horizontal color stripes, creating color palettes for each animated film which represents the visuals and emotions of them.
